SO as you can probably tell from the radio silence summers are busy around here! The Little Dude is now four months old! He has three teeth pushing through one of which is towards the back of his mouth (not fun!)… He’s still working on the rolling over thing, I expected him to have figured it out by now being as he started almost from the beginning turning on his side… but still he can’t seem to get his little arm out from under him.. He has started trying to sit up more and is now more actively playing with his toys… I got him a toy like the Sofia Girraffe it looks like a mushroom with a loop on its head, its very soft and squeaks he seems to like it alot its made out of natural rubber and all natural paint.. He also just got an organic cotton Pear rattle that is a big hit.. Though his favorite things of all are just plain old blankets 🙂 he like rubbing them on his face and bunching them in his hands! He’s getting so big! He’s up to 15 lbs! The cloth diapering has been going wonderfully!!! I love our G Diapers!!! They’re so easy and very cute!! and then we have our homemade flip style covers with the bicycles that we use out of the house.. We just got a new all in one Ava diaper that has matching biyclces 🙂 and we got some cloth wipes that we are going to start using when we’re on the go, which is alot! We are wedding photographers and that keeps us on the go alot especially in the summer time.. We are prime examples that you can cloth diaper on the go!! We also just bought two wet bags one for diapers and the other for the wipes.. The wipe solution that works the best for us is one I got off of Zanny Zebras which has soap, oil, water, tea tree and lavender.. I don’t always use the tea tree and I make a smaller amount for the diaper bag.. I also use the same mix for homemade disposable wipes for home use, they’re great!!! I mix 1/4 cup water with 1/4 tbs apricot oil, Dr Branors baby soap, one drop tea tree oil, and three drops lavender!

I Want To Wear My Bicycle…

So I know I”m a little behind on the posting, but I have good reason, I just finished my fourth hand-made G style Flip Diaper Cover. I’m super excited to have them done next I’m going to make a wet bag and changing pad to match 🙂 I also ordered some G diapers. So Now I have six G diapers with twelve inserts and four Flip covers with a whole bunch of prefolds 🙂

I’m Mama Enough Are YOU???

SO I know I may be a little behind the ball on this article being as TIME released this cover back in May, but lets face it folks I had some more important things going on 🙂 Anyways this Cover in conjunction with the campaign of the fair-child mom2mom support group about breastfeeding awareness all just came under my radar and have me more than a little interested! I’m blessed to live in an area that most people keep to themselves and most likely aren’t going to take you on about feeding your kid in public, that being stated its still hard, because you don’t want to offend any narrow minded people, but you also want to do what’s best for your child while living a life of your own! I am a practicing supporter of Attachment Parenting.. I can’t say that I sat down one day and made a conscious decision to parent this way, it just sort of happened.. I know that this is most likely going to be my one and only child and I want to enjoy every minute of his life.. I started off from day one thinking that I want to hold my son close and cuddle him as much as I can because in a blink of an eye he’ll be grown and these years will just be memories captured in pictures.. as time went on I learned to listen to my son.. I learned that he slept through the night when I slept next to him.. that he didn’t cry and slept peacefully while I worked when I wore him instead of pushing away in a stroller… and the breastfeeding was a given before I even started.. I was breastfed till I was two and my mom is one of my best friends I know she will always be there to love and support me and I have never doubted that! I’m hoping that my relationship with my son can be as close! I also cloth diaper, which at times is a little harder (when you’re on your third outfit together because he just keeps peeing trough everything), but it also makes diapering fun! I make my son’s diapers using fun colorful fabric, old T-shirts, and other fun things.. and I smile and enjoy picking out what diaper he’s going to wear next.. it brings some fun and color to a poopy mess 🙂 all these little things are things that I think benefit both myself and my son! So I have a goal for myself and I challenge other Mama’s like me to do this too.. Let’s show our Sons and Daughters that they are more important to us then the way society views us! and the next time they’re hungry and we’re out living our lives lets feed them then and there! and not go off to sit in the car or bathroom or any other place that’s out of ‘their’ way, lets love our kids enough to feed them in public!

Happy Fourth…

Si rode in his first parade for the fourth of July and got to see his first fireworks on the third (he slept through them)… We had alot of fun for the fourth and he was very cute in the parade! We rode on the American Legion Float that Grandpa drove while Nana gave out popsicles and candy! We also got to see Daddy for almost a whole week in a row! which was nice after over two weeks of not having him home (sad) unfortunately he had to go back to work though (sadder) so it might be awhile before we can see him again… We also celebrated my birthday on fridaySi went to his first Bluegrass show, he seemed to like it 🙂 just like his Mama…

The Adventures of Breastfeeding… if you’ve ever had the joy of going to dinner with a growing set of wet eyes on your dress, if more people have seen your breast now then any spring break wet t-shirt contests, and if you dread the day your child gets teeth.. you will appreciate our adventures! I’m a huge advocate for breastfeeding! I was breastfed until I was two years old and have every intention of continuing that tradition… especially after not being able to have a natural birth this was my last great stand! Thankfully I’m stubborn because breastfeeding is not easy and anyone who tells you it is, they’re LYING to you! Its hard, but most defiantly worth it! Baby boy with his arms around your breast blocking so you can’t detach him his priceless! Not to mention that you have a great excuse to cuddle your baby and bond with him in  a way no one else can, its great!

Baby Food! There are many choices and even more advice people will give you on what to feed your child when to start and anything else you can think of.. most of its bogus… baby’s don’t need solid food for quite sometime… after six months is just fine! and who’s the brains behind starting them with cereal? When they get older (say thirty) they’ll have to give them up anyways… and then on to fruit? no wonder kids spit the veggies back at you! (now these are not soley my ideas ( gave me alot of insight and she was right how many people are alergic to veggies?? So my goal is to start canning my own baby food soon to get a head start on it… I plan to buy the ‘organic’ basket from Bountiful Baskets and can everything in it… if I do this every other week till he starts eating and after I should have a pretty good start… it would cost me $50 a month and I think I would get quite a bit of organic baby food out of it!… more to come about the baby canning adventures..

Rollin…Rollin…Rollin… Get That Baby Rollin

The little man has now started to roll over, he hasn’t quite mastered the art of getting hi other arm out from under him once he rolls onto it, but I have no doubt that before long he will! sometimes I help either by moving his arm for him or by putting my hand at his feet so he can push him self up and pull the arm out.. once he does that he then starts to work on holding his head up, I think it won’t be long before he’ll be scooting with his head up! He a little man that’s going somewhere… he’s always on the move and that’s saying something since he isn’t actually mobile 🙂 It takes a wee bit of littlemanhandling to get him to hold still and nurse… I can hardly imagine what it will take when he can move on his own…

Daddy Gets a New Car!!!

SO we just found out that Daddy got  approved to lease a new Honda CRV!!! We are all very happy! We’ve never had a “new” car! I think this totally helps make up for the broken down car that has kept him from getting to come home for a week plus! and for this craZy fire heatwave, plus it makes my aching, throbbing teeth, that might need root canals, feel better too 🙂 We get to see it tomorrow and ride in it, plus the Daddy that’s going to drive it home! Right now I think they’re both tied for first on which one we’re more excited to see Daddy or the CRV, it looks like Daddy’s pulling forward slowly in the polls (it has been a week!)… So exciting!!

To Vaccinate or Not To Vaccinate…

First off the argument that he can’t go to public school without having all of his Immunizations is null-in-void nowadays you just have to sign what Aviva Jill Romm calls the “Bad Mommy Papers” which says that you are at fault if something happens to your child as a result of not being vaccinated… but no one else has to sign for responsibility if something happens as a result of getting the Vaccines??? Some of the basics I agree with the ones that have been around long enough to have been followed from infancy through to old age death… but all these new ones that we haven’t been able to follow that far because the first kids to get them are still kids! Those ones I’m not too sure about! They even have a shot against Chicken Pocks nowadays, Now maybe I’m just old school, but I got the pocks and it was ok?? but now that we have a vaccine against them I almost have to give it to my son because he is way less likely to come across it till he gets older, which is when it can have much more problems?? I think that man has just interfered with Gods creation too much.. yes I do believe that he gave us the knowledge to create these vaccines, but he also gave us very strong immune systems.. butwe have to allow them to develop, not just pump disease through our systems in order to prevent them… I don’t know I see some good points and just as many bad ones?????
